Here we are on the last day of 2009. Not only is it the last day of the year, it is also the last day of the first decade of this century. Coincidentally, it is also the first time in 20 years that a Blue Moon has occurred on New Year’s Eve.
He and She just came in from work, and on the way in, She attempted to get some pictures of this rare blue moon.
If you didn’t know already, you can see in the pictures that the moon isn’t actually blue in color, but is so called when a full moon appears twice in one month. The next time a blue moon will appear on New Year’s Eve won’t happen again for 19 years. Kind of makes the point of “Once in a blue moon”, doesn’t it?
Whatever color the moon, we hope it is shining down on you as you enjoy health and happiness tonight and in all the coming days of 2010.
Happy New Year!
