It Was a Wii Weekend!

So much to talk about!!  What a great weekend we all had – even though it was much too short, it was very active!

“He” and “She” are really getting into the whole “home gym experience”.  They are enjoying having a nice, comfortable place to work out and are starting to feel the effects of regular exercise.  They are sleeping better, and awaking with more energy and stamina.  He likes to say the benefits you get from exercising don’t come in any pill.

Speaking of the gym, we had a little excitement this weekend when He was cutting grass.  The front yard is full of towering pine trees, and since they have not done any landscaping yet, the yard itself is still a little rough.  He hit a stick (of all things) and it flew into the window and broke it!

That’s the treadmill you see inside.  Fortunately, because the window is double-paned, it only broke the outer glass.  He and She just installed these windows a couple of years ago, and it doesn’t appear they can be repaired, so we guess they will have to install a new one.  They are just thankful no one (feline or otherwise) was injured by the amazingly destructive flying stick!

A couple of new activities went on this weekend in the gym.  Kosmo thought it was really great when She tried out her new Yoga mat and DVD for beginners.  It was really a challenge for her, but She got through most of it.  Of course, the “Cow Stretch” would probably be a much easier move for her without a 17 pound gray tabby on her back!  Oh well, She’s doing Yoga and Resistance Training all in one!

The other challenge they undertook this weekend was playing with their new Wii!  They have wanted one for some time, and finally were able to find the game on the store shelf, so they snapped it up.  They had such fun learning to play the games that came with the system, Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Baseball and Boxing.  And, let me tell you, this is not your father’s video game!  It is a far cry from Pong, Pac-man and Donkey Kong, which were probably the last video games He or She ever played!  These things make you move!  In addition to the games that came with the console, they purchased Dance Dance Revolution and a Motocross ATV race game.  These games have only proven She has no rhythm, and He will never be allowed to have a dirt bike!

Somehow, with all they had going on this weekend, they found time to go visit Boots & Scooter, where they were treated to a wonderful meal while enjoying the weather on the patio, overlooking the pond.  It was a great day for grilling out, and they really enjoyed the company, too!

We would all like to take this opportunity to remind you that it is Be Kind to Animals Week.  We wish that everyone would be kind to animals everyday, but we appreciate the American Humane Society for taking a week every year to celebrate the contributions that animals make in the lives of those who love them.

Thanks for visiting with us, and remember, you still have until Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 to leave a comment on this post and qualify for the drawing of our One Year Blogiversary gift!
