This title is really the weather forecast for today, but it means more than just the weather. For some reason, there was a lot of tension this morning here at The House of 9 Lives. It all began with Blossom going beserk and running full-tilt through the house, like she had two tails and they were both on fire. She ran up on the kitchen counters, down the hall, under the bed and back up the hall at 100 m.p.h. into the chair where “She” was sitting. Luckily, “She” managed to balance her coffee cup without scalding them both. Then, later, Flirt had Alley backed into a corner and both their tails were big and fat. To finish off the mele, Jazz for some reason decided to grab Barny in a choke hold and there was screaming like I’ve never heard. Now, I know, Barny is my Mom and all, and I’m a big muscular cat, but I felt the best thing I could do in this situation was to stay under the bed and keep a low profile.
I don’t know what’s up with everyone. Times like this are rare, even though there are so many of us here in the house. It’s especially strange for Jazz to act like this, he is usually known as the diplo-“cat” of the house and gets along with everyone. The only thing I can figure out is that everyone is a little on edge because there have been outside cats visiting the house. Not only have we seen a big, shiny, black kitty, but there were also several kittens outside this weekend. “She” gave them some food and water, but we haven’t seen them again. “She” thinks they live at a house across the street, but she is worried about the little guys. Maybe because we are really at capacity here, Jazz and the others are trying to make it clear to “He” and “She” there really is NO MORE ROOM for any additional cats.
Or, maybe the tension in the air is related to the weather. Hopefully, it will rain and some of that tension will be relased. I don’t know what the cause is, I’ll just be glad when things are settled down. I don’t like all this tension one bit. Lilah and I can hide under the bed for only so long!!
Can’t we all just get along?
